If Hotel Transylvania didn’t come out, this would have been the #1 animated film walkcycle in 2012

Jesus King Candy, HOW DO YOU EVEN DO THAT?!

His feet are just twirling on his ankles it’s fucking magical.

Okay I don’t normally do this but let me just say something about this animation and the sheer amount of detail they put into this walk-cycle in correlation to the character themselves. The way he walks in this first real ‘introduction’ to the character; notice how his legs go straight out to the sides of him while he twirls his feet- like the wheels of the cars he has been programmed to drive. Not only that, but the lull in his walk is exactly like spinning your tires while breaking (or revving one’s engine), which happens at the start of every cart-racing game. Also, his hand literally changes gears and ‘locks’ before his shooing hand gesture, before returning to the unseen gear-shift. Even in the second shot close-up, he stops in perfect time of 3, the same as the ‘ready, set, go!’ of racing games.

He is literally embodying both his car and racing games in general. His animation team made him into the true ‘king’ of cart-racing.

HOLYFUCKINGSHIT

Holy Hera! I didn’t even consider that! 8O

That just makes him that much more awesome! :D

And kudos to those awesome Disney animators for always finding ways to add nice little touches to the characters in their films. :)

I just sincerely love this post

This tutorial contains tips about writing for webcomics, with my caveat that I’m not formally trained in any of this stuff~~ This is all just my personal observations and tips from the past 10 years of putting comics online, but they’ve served me pretty well so far! For some examples of this info applied to my own work, feel free to check out my webcomics at The Meek and Mare Internum.

All of my tutorials are released in lower-res format to the public 6 months after publication at the Shingworks Patreon. You can access the full tutorial archive, as well as nearly 1.5 years worth of bonus content, by becoming a Patron :] I just wrapped up a two part tutorial about building and launching Patreons, good times.

and thanks in advance for not removing my text <3

Shimanami Tasogare

It is an amazing manga with an almost entirely LGBT+ cast and talks a lot about gender identity, sexuality and troubles faced by those within the LGBT+ community (especially for younger members). Also it is fucking BEAUTIFUL.

Kamatani Yuuki’s use of imagery and visual metaphors never fails to take my breath away.

Please just read the damn manga.

Tumblr tip for webcomic artists!

I am looking directly at those who create and post webcomics on tumblr.

Deep into your eyes.

A great comic can lose its chance at being popular if it is presented poorly. When creating your comics, always assume that no one will click to enlarge your images. You must present your comic so it is clearly viewed on the dashboard. You can make it high resolution, but be sure that the text is easily read and the detail in the images is not lost at 500 pixels wide.

Instead of orienting your comic horizontally, do it vertically. If you exceed more than 2 panels, make another image and create a photoset. With the new photoset system, you can stack up to ten images vertically. Just drag the images until you have a horizontal blue line to stack them. Owlturd is a great example of how to properly present your comics. It is easily consumed without any enlargement.

Making sure your comic is easily visible at 500 pixels wide will ensure that you get the maximum amount of notes and reblogs possible. Always save your comics as a draft and inspect it before you publish. If anything looks hard to make out, adjust it. If you post your comic on another site and it is horizontally oriented, consider splicing up the panels and creating a vertical version for tumblr.

I am seeing way too many comics that are 4 panels wide and the text is so tiny it cannot be made out without enlargement. Many people will scroll right on by and never look at your comic. Please don’t make this mistake. I want all artists on tumblr to get the attention they deserve.

Great tips from Frogman, as always.
